Airport Steel was established in 1999 as a steel supplier, manufacturer and installer. On the 27th of January, slightly before 6 pm a fire erupted at this well known Pomona Road business in Kempton Park. The leading cause of the fire is, according to our knowledge, still unknown.
What is known, is that it left the local company reeling with the shock of seeing “the devastating fire that consumed 20 years of material things collected and gathered by Airport Steel.”- wrote Sakkie Strydom, owner of Airport Steel, on the company business Facebook Page @airportsteelcc .
We are happy to report that they are currently operating from Unit 20, in the same office park. Their steel sales and hardware are open and proceeding as normal.
